For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Uday Kiran Chaka. Just like you, I never imagined I'd have to deal with security or crime-related issues, but life has a funny way of throwing curveballs at us when we least expect it.

Growing up, my family and I enjoyed a peaceful and secure environment. We kept our windows and doors open all day long, without any fear of break-ins or burglaries. But all of that changed a few years ago when my home was broken into, and my sense of security was shattered.

I thought that installing security cameras would be good enough security. But as it turned out, cameras by themselves were not enough to prevent crime.

When I spoke to the police officer handling my case, he explained that cameras generated too many false alarms and that they couldn't rely on them to confirm any suspicious activity.

As someone who's always been passionate about using technology to solve problems, I knew there had to be a better solution out there.

Originally I co-founded an AI company that provided fall detection for seniors using standard cameras. But after my home break-in, I realized that the same solution could be applied to the detecting criminals.

I shared my solution with the same police officer who managed my burglary case, Wahed Magee, who actually told me that auto shops were getting targeted for crimes more often compared to other crimes in the area.

So we pivoted our startup to focus on security for auto shops, with Wahed joining as an investor and advisor.

We started with Nick from Bona Brothers, and since then we signed up more than 20 auto shops as our customers in the first year, then another 100 in our second year.

By our third year, every business that we talked to wants to work with us and every day, we have a business reaching out to us after learning about us from industry colleagues and online searches.

So I'm now on a mission to share my knowledge and help as many auto shops as possible prevent crime.
